Save Komarnica Camp returns this June

Location: Camp in front of the Nevidio Canyon, Šavnik, Montenegro

From June 6-8 river defenders will once again gather at Komarnica for a pivotal edition of the Camp on Komarnica. Set against the backdrop of Nevidio Canyon, this year's gathering carries special significance, as the campaign to protect the Komarnica River approaches a crucial decision point from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The camp is an opportunity to stand united in defence of one of Montenegro’s most ecologically valuable rivers—a river that has inspired countless individuals and movements. Participants will reflect on shared memories, celebrate the natural beauty of Komarnica, and reinforce the spirit of resistance that has defined the years-long effort to preserve it.

Activities will include guided tours, community-building events, and creative opportunities to engage with nature and activism. Registration for tours will open one week before the event. View the programme.

Organised by the Montenegrin Ecologists Society, the Komarnica Camp is supported by EuroNatur as part of the international Save the Blue Heart of Europe campaign.
